The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) began its activities in 1947. It is a non-governmental organization that brings together around 160 members from all over the world, including the Polish Committee for Standardization. Each member organization has the right to submit a new standard proposal or propose amendments to an existing one. A document can achieve official standard status when 75% of the main committee members approve it. This structured process makes the International Organization for Standardization highly respected worldwide, and the standards it issues serve as a guarantee of meeting the highest quality requirements.

In September 2005, the ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System standard was officially published. Its implementation, maintenance, and certification by a prestigious and accredited body guarantee the highest quality of the offered products. The standard specifies requirements for all organizations in the food supply chain, including feed producers, service providers, transportation, warehousing, and food manufacturers. It ensures quality assurance at every stage, giving the final consumer confidence that the product offered is completely safe and meets the strictest quality standards.

According to the official ISO website:

The most popular ISO standard is ISO 9001, with as many as 1,058,504 active certificates registered worldwide in 2017, including 11,846 in Poland. This information shows that companies eagerly pursue certification under ISO standards.

In 2017, a total of 32,722 ISO 22000 certificates were issued worldwide, including 561 in Poland. This discrepancy in active certificates highlights the challenge businesses in the food supply chain face in obtaining ISO 22000 certification. This makes us even more proud to have achieved this certification.
